Puede que en algunas ocasiones nos interese desactivar el registro de usuarios en WordPress.
Quizá porque estemos en modo pruebas, porque los registros los realicemos nosotros manualmente, o porque tengamos un sistema de registro de usuarios o generación de cuentas paralelo al oficial.

Hay maneras menos radicales de resolverlo. Por ejemplo, instalando el plugin de reCAPTCHA, humanizers, cambiando la url por defecto del formulario, activando la verificación en dos pasos o añadiendo campos personalizados, entre otras opciones.
Sea cual sea el motivo, desactivar/reactivar el registro es cosa de, literalmente, 3 clics:
- Nos logueamos en el administrador y pulsamos en Ajustes –> Generales
- Veremos un checkbox llamado Miembros [Cualquiera puede registrarse]. Lo marcamos/desmarcamos
- Guardamos los cambios, y listo.
