Qué es y cómo crear un phpinfo

phpinfo() es una función PHP que nos permite conocer, a través de una representación visual en forma de tabla, muchísima información sobre la configuración de nuestro servidor.

Y dado que cada servidor es un mundo, esta función se utiliza con bastante frecuencia.

Algunos de los datos más comunes que podemos consultar serán:

  • Cuál es la ruta absoluta o path de la carpeta pública en nuestro servidor (httpdocs, www, htdocs…)
  • Información sobre las opciones de compilación
  • Versión de PHP activa
  • Versión del Sistema Operativo
  • Configuración de opciones locales, globales y valores actuales (max_execution_time, post_max_size, max_input_vars…)
  • Ubicación de los logs de errores

¿Cómo consultar phpinfo()?

Como cualquier función PHP, podemos ejecutarla sin más escribiendo phpinfo(); en cualquier archivo PHP, pero lo ideal es crear un archivo a parte llamado info.php que la contenga.

Para ello:

  1. Creamos un archivo llamado info.php
  2. Escribimos, únicamente, el siguiente código:
    <?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>
  3. Lo subimos a nuestro ftp y lo ejecutamos. Si lo hemos subido a la raíz, la ruta sería http://dominio.com/info.php

Eso nos mostrará algo como lo siguiente:

Y ahora sólo tendremos que buscar (utilizando el buscador del navegador para no morir en el intento), la linea en cuestión que nos interese. Por ejemplo: “max_input_vars” .
